1. Commitment to Achieving Net Zero
Consummate Care Ltd is fully committed to supporting the UK Government’s target of achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
As a trusted care provider, we recognise our responsibility to operate sustainably, reduce our environmental impact, and contribute positively to the communities we serve.
We are aligned with PPN 06/21: Taking Account of Carbon Reduction Plans in the Procurement of Major Government Contracts and are committed to implementing and maintaining a credible Carbon Reduction Plan in line with official guidance and technical standards.
2. Baseline Emissions Footprint
Our baseline year is 2023/24. This represents our first year of formal carbon reporting. Emissions are reported in tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e) and cover Scope 1, 2 and relevant Scope 3 categories.
Emissions Source: Scope 1
Scope Description: Direct emissions from owned/controlled sources (e.g. vehicle fuel, heating) 10 tCO₂e
Baseline Year Emissions (tCO₂e): 10 tCO₂e
Emissions Source: Scope 2
Scope Description: Indirect emissions from purchased electricity
Baseline Year Emissions (tCO₂e) : 5 tCO₂e
Emissions Source: Scope 3 (selected)
Scope Description: Indirect emissions from waste disposal, staff commuting, procurement and business travel 15 tCO₂e
Total 30 tCO₂e
Baseline year: 2023/24
Note: As this is our first reporting year, baseline emissions are based on best available data and will be refined as data quality improves annually.
3. Current Emissions Reporting
Our most recent emissions reporting year is 2024/25. Data collection processes are being strengthened to ensure accurate year-on-year comparisons.
Emissions Source Scope Description Reporting Year Emissions (tCO₂e)
Scope 1 Direct emissions 9 tCO₂e
Scope 2 Indirect emissions 4.5 tCO₂e
Scope 3 (selected) Indirect emissions 14.5 tCO₂e
Total 28 tCO₂e
This reflects a modest reduction in overall emissions through operational energy efficiency and travel measures.
4. Emissions Reduction Targets
Consummate Care Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
We have set the following interim target:
• Reduce absolute emissions by 30% by 2030 (against the 2023/24 baseline).
• Continual annual reductions through energy, transport, and procurement improvements.
Progress will be monitored and reported publicly each year.
5. Carbon Reduction Measures
To achieve our targets, we are implementing the following measures:
• 🔸 Energy Efficiency: LED lighting upgrades, better heating control systems, insulation improvements across our facilities.
• 🔸 Renewable Energy: Transitioning to low- or zero-carbon energy sources where feasible.
• 🔸 Travel & Transport: Encouraging active travel, car-sharing schemes, increased use of virtual meetings, and transitioning to low-emission vehicles.
• 🔸 Waste Reduction: Increased recycling rates, food waste minimisation, and reduced single-use materials.
• 🔸 Sustainable Procurement: Engaging suppliers on their own carbon reduction practices.
• 🔸 Awareness & Culture: Staff engagement and training on sustainability practices.
6. Methodology
Our carbon footprint has been calculated and will continue to be updated annually in line with:
• GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.
• UK Government Conversion Factors for Company Reporting.
• PPN 06/21 technical guidance.
Emissions are calculated using a combination of actual consumption data (where available) and reasonable estimates based on activity levels. The scope of reporting will expand as data quality improves.
7. Governance, Transparency and Accountability
• This Carbon Reduction Plan has been approved at senior management level.
• It will be reviewed and updated annually, with progress reported publicly on our website.
• It forms part of our wider Environmental and Social Responsibility Strategy.
8. Declaration and Sign-Off
